the Founder

Doan Ly

A multidisciplinary artist whose practice integrates the fields of design, photo, and video.

Born in Vietnam, she immigrated to the US at age 8 and grew up in Minnesota. After one year in refugee camps in Indonesia. She holds a BA from Stanford University and an MFA from The Tisch School of The Arts, NYU.

Recognized by her dreamy palettes and compositions, her work often revolves around the colors and flowers that pass through the studio, the guests who visit, those who assist in her work and even... the lunch delivery person.

Together they form an ensemble of performers, models, and subjects for Doan’s collaborative experiments.
